Chapter (14)
~ Sketchbook Jacket

I tapped into my artistic stream of unconsciousness and crafted a work that takes my thought process and projects it onto a real surface. The work itself is extremely convoluted and crude—similar to how I work to develop and advance ideas in my art. I utilized a jacket since it is the outermost piece of clothing typically worn. It is a shell that is exposed to the elements just as I am exposing my creative process. I used acrylic paint washes, markers, and sown on images, just like in my sketchbooks.
