Chapter (11)
~ All-Natural Women
In contemporary times, much of our culture revolves around mass production and consumerism. It’s not only products that are sold but also women. I think women are often sold as objects of desire to men consume them. They are often viewed and treated as products and commodities. Women are reduced to their constituent parts and valued strictly on physical and aesthetic characteristics. This work is a study in camp, a parody of women as products in the context of the meat-packing industry, where meat is packaged and sold on a price-per-pound basis. It is disturbing as it is ridiculous.
