Why do we continue to follow the rules of art that govern our creative-making process? In this piece, I questioned the methods artists use when making a painting. By utilizing the backside of the canvas, I rebel against the notion of painting “traditions” and instead establish my own version of a self-portrait by looking inside. How different it is when looking just at the front and back of my head.
